A drain is a conduit that allows liquid to flow out of a contained volume.Taking a while to drain requires the need of unclogging. One of the ways unclogging can be done is through use of baking soda and vinegar as the fizzing action helps remove the gunk, grime and hair. Baking soda and vinegar is used at a certain amount which is then left to sit for an hour or overnight and finally flushing with hot water. Use of boiling water is the other way of unclogging a drain in which its poured slowly on to the drain in two or three stages while allowing the water to work for several seconds between each pour. Not only is using boiling water the easiest way to unclog a drain but also the fastest way.
In addition to use of boiling water, baking soda and vinegar, caustic soda is also used to unclog a drain. When handling caustic soda or sodium hydroxide use of rubber gloves and eye protection is required as it causes horrible chemical burns. Caustic soda can be obtained from any local hardware stores as its easily available. A clogged drain can be cleared using a bent wire hanger which is also considered as an effective means. In order to unclog the drain using a wire hanger its first straightened out then bent over on one end to create a small hook that is pushed past the drain cover. Much of the grime, gunk and hair is removed using the bent wire hanger after which hot water is run through to clear the drain.
Grime and gunk is dissolved by use of baking soda and salt mixed with boiling water. The process of using baking soda and salt involves using equal portions of baking soda and salt is poured on to the clogged drain and left for some minutes after which boiling water is poured through. Boiling of water is followed after the dish detergent is poured in the bowl as another way of unclogging the drain. Acting as a lubricant is done so by the dish detergent which helps to break up the greasy residue.
Pipe cleaning is the other way of unclogging the drain. The process of pipe cleaning includes placing an empty bucket beneath the sink, using a plumber’s wrench to loosen the screws of the pipe, remove the pipe and finally remove the contents causing the clogging. The installation process of water heaters is first known in order for repairs to work and they are divided into two parts. Installation of water heater includes removal of the old water heater and installation of the new water heater. When removing the old water heater the following process are carried out; turning off the electricity at the circuit breaker, turning on the faucet on hot and let it run till the water is cool, opening of the drain valve among others.
